Echizen cutlery is believed to have originated at the end of the Kamakura period (1185-1333) and later on was referred to as one of the three main centers of edged farming tools along with Echigo and Harima. Echizen is proud of this long history and high quality. Based on the Japanese ancient art of fire forging and hand finishing, Echizen cutlery produces kitchen knives, scissors and sickles of great sharpness.
